Hi Simsmore, and happy new year!

We’re off to a great start to the new year, with lots of junior and adult play. Here’s what you need to know.

Season Time. If you have a court for the season, the bell tolls for thee. It is time to complete your payments for the indoor season. Don’t be late or you jeopardize your free coffee. Stop by or call the front desk if you need an update on your balance.

Vacation Camps. We are planning a mini juniors camp over February break. Kids 14 and under will play on Monday and Wednesday, 2/15 and 2/17. The 18 and under will play on Tuesday and Thursday, 2/16 and 2/18. Cost is $84 for junior members and $100 for nonmembers. 2 hours of focused instruction on each day. Sign ups underway at front desk.

High School Prep Camp. This year, we’re returning our HS prep camp, which was oversold last year. When spring arrives, a young man’s thoughts turn to tennis. And a young woman’s also. This one week camp will equip your junior to compete for a spot on their high school team. It’s Monday through Friday, March 8-12. 3-5PM each day. Cost is $200 for junior members and $250 for nonmembers. Sign ups underway at front desk. Do not delay.

Summer Camp. I bet you didn’t know that Simsmore Tennis will remain open all summer? I bet there are other things you don’t know, but that’s not important now. Not only will we be fully staffed from 9-9 every day, but we are also doing a summer camp! More details to come, but if you’re like me, the opportunity to drop off the kids for 3 hours a day during the summer is pretty tempting.

Plugging In. Are you having trouble getting started at tennis, or want to expand your play? We’re looking for beginners in friday’s ladies round robin at noon. We have court openings for Jan/Feb at 10:30 on Mondays and Wednesdays for lessons or open play, and we have room for a couple more in our Wed doubles challenge at noon, and also for women’s singles play.

Website. Always your first choice for color commentary on weekend usta matches. Check in on Mondays, and read about usta play over the weekend.
